New Features in AutoCAD 2021.1

One of the highlights of AutoCAD 2021.1 is the new Drawing History feature, which shows users all the changes made to their drawings over time. Users can also compare two versions in the context of the current drawing.

The other big addition to AutoCAD 2021.1 is a new integration with Google Drive. This allows users to open DWG files from Google Drive directly in the AutoCAD web or mobile app, and save the DWGs back to Google Drive once they’re finished. Users can do the same directly from DWG attachments in Gmail.

Enhancements in AutoCAD 2021.1

Autodesk has also improved several existing features for the new version of AutoCAD. The DWG Compare feature now supports external references (Xrefs) attached to drawings. Xref Compare will automatically notify users if a referenced drawing has changed, and users can compare the changes in the context of their current drawing.

AutoCAD 2021.1 also improves the Blocks palette, letting users sync recent blocks to cloud storage for access from web or desktop. The new Libraries tab (formerly the Other Drawings tab) shows users their five most recently used block libraries for quick access.


AutoCAD 2021.1 In Summary

Consistent with past “little r” or “dot-one” releases, AutoCAD 2021.1 does not seem to distract from what I anticipate will be a larger portfolio of features added in AutoCAD 2022 next spring. Overall, I would classify the new features we find inside this release as enhancements to existing features, not so much the introduction of groundbreaking new features.

Still, while the new features inside AutoCAD 2021.1 mostly enhance existing features, I do believe it does so in a meaningful and worthwhile way. As such, I’ve found my initial interactions with the update to be frictionless and worth the time to update.

PRIOR NOTE: If you already have AutoCAD 2021 installed (activated), and you only want to install update 2021.1, deactivate the internet, enter AutoCAD_2021.1_Update folder and run AutoCAD_2021.1_Update_64bit.exe.
It worked fine for me without using Medicines.

If you do not have the program installed and activated, you must follow all the steps described below to install AutoCAD 2021 and after achieving this you must install Update 2021.1.
Read carefully and be guided by the images.
If this is the first time you do it, it is NOT easy, you will have errors, the serial will not work, you will have to close the app, enter the task manager and end all the Autodesk Desktop App (32-bit) processes and start again many times.

1. Execute the setup of the program to be installed.

2. Click next to everything and wait for the installation to finish.

3. Close program & see system tray and close app too. (Important!)

IMPORTANT PREVIOUS STEPS:
** | Disable antivirus and internet connection.

** | Verify that version 10 of Autodesk Licensing Service is NOT installed.
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing
- If version 10 is installed >> click on "unistall.exe"
- Install version 9 which is in the AdskLicensing-installer-9.2.2.2501 folder (...\XF-2021\Adsklicensinginstaller-9.2.2.2501)

1. Open autocad and click on "Enter a serial Number" >> Activate

- Serial number see TXT
- The "Product key" is automatically typed, in case it is not, see the list at the end of this text document.

Note 1: If a window is displayed specifying that an internet connection is required, close the program and try again.

Note 2: If clicking on "Activate" shows that the serial number is incorrect,
we just have to close the window and click "Activate" again.

Note 3: Before clicking "Activate" we can disconnect the internet connection
and thus prevent the wrong serial number from being output.


2. Once the serial number is recognized, select "I have an activation code from Autodesk" and copy the "Request code" code.

3. Run "XF-2020_v2.exe" as administrator.

Note 4: To run as administrator do the following: right click on the Medicines >> click on "Run as administrator".

4. In the Medicines window click on "Medicines" (If successful, "Successfully patched" will appear).

5. In the Medicines window, paste the "Request code" in "Request" >> Click on "generate" and copy the generated code.

6. Go to the activation window and paste the generated code >> Click next.

7. If everything went well, it will show us that the program has been activated correctly.

8. Block all Autodesk applications with firewall.

9. Don't update
