Moved to Help & Request Section... and in my experience... nothing has worked for me to unlock a Write Protected USB stick.... May as well get a new one IMO. Good Luck!!

how to get data in write protected flash disk?

Plug in the flash drive
Copy off any data you need from the flashdrive to another drive.
Run command prompt as admin.
Then run diskpart
when diskpart loads type in list disk and hit enter.
from the list of disks, figure out which one is the flash drive and then type in select disk x (and hit enter) where x=the number it gave the flashdrive in the list.
enter in the clean command next
when clean is done, enter in the create partition primary command
now enter in the active command
Next enter in format fs=exfat label="Put in a name here" quick
- (fs is the filesystem so if you wish fat32 or ntfs then use those. exfat has the most compatibility between different systems)
- (the label name needs to be in quotes, there may be a 11 character limit, ntfs may have 32)
- (quick is optional, leave it off if you want a full format instead)

And when the format is done, your drive should be again ready to go.

it is NOT because it is write protected that you can't copy and paste the data from that flashdrive to somewhere else :)

Chances are you'll never recover data from a Write protected USB unless you have the protect password.

my question does the drive show in windows and show contents of flash drive
has it got the little slide switch is it set right
have you checked the usb connnector for damage to the 4 pins
is the usb plug loose on the drive (could have a broken pin where its soldered to circuit board inside the drive )
hope this helps
i have hundreds of these drives that people have messedup and given to me... only one that i could not recover

I had a 64gb Kingston usb drive full of portable software that became write protected after It fell out of my hand to the desktop. I researched and found that write protection on a usb drive is default for corruption.
I was able to copy most of the files and found 1 file corrupted, could not copy. After that I tried diskpart and software to restore the drive, but all that failed. After a year of internet solutions the only good advice was "write protected usb drives cannot be repaired, save what you can and if you cant, that drive is trash.

I am not sure what the exact issue is here and I would caution about any advice and help until things are clear (or at least I don't get it). Not that any person is wrong but I think we don't really know the true nature of the problem.

Write protect = You can not write to the USB but you can still read, yet the OP has issues with reading and not writing the USB flash drive.
Encrypted = The data are locked 'till a password is given (or any other way that unlocks the drive), which means he can't read or write without unlocking (depends on the lock) but the USB is okay otherwise
Broken/Bad = Cant read the Data as there should be a physical problem, for example, the controller, or a memory chip

The OP states that the USB is write-protected, yet he can't read the data... so I am not sure what solution would work here as each problem has a totally different solution but if you pick the wrong one, say bye-bye to data. If we can have a better explanation, and maybe more details of the problem, it would help, or we can leave it to luck.
