This upload includes the fix for corrupt error, registration getting reset, etc. No need to use any other pa*ch. I am just sharing here. Actual fix pat*h was done by someone else.

Yes IDM can be a "strange and peculiar little beast" at times indeed. I myself tend to use mostlly Xtreme Download Manager (XDM), with second best Neat Download Manager, yet for unexplained reason (maybe because it was my first since years ago I guess), I keep coming back to IDM whenever I get a chance, until I'm tired of it's quirks and the cycle starts again. Can you share an image of the error, exactly. Maybe your antivirus is blocking, or your UAC.
Maybe you have a 32bi PC as well (maybe).
