Microsoft has released today new optional updates for Windows 10 version 1809 (or the October 2018 Update) and older versions of the OS, which follow the January Medicines Tuesday updates released last week. If you’re still running the version 1809 of Windows 10, you can download the build 17763.1012 today which includes the following fixes:
Updates an issue with Windows Mixed Reality that occurs after upgrading to a new version of Microsoft Edge.
Updates an issue that causes a device to repeatedly go into the Windows Out Of Box Experience (OOBE) restart loop in certain situations.
Updates an issue that causes the touch keyboard to close when you select any key.
Updates an issue that prevents users from reducing the size of a window in some cases.
Updates an issue that changes the user-customized order of tiles in the Start menu even though the layout is locked or partially locked.
Updates an issue that causes the Settings page to close unexpectedly.
Updates an issue that might prevent a user’s settings from syncing across devices.
As Windows 10 version 1809 will reach end of support in May 2020 for Home and Pro users, Microsoft has already started to automatically push the latest Windows 10 update, the version 1909 (or November 2019 Update) to these devices to keep them secure. The company also announced earlier this week that the November 2019 Update is now available to download for all “seekers” who manually check for updates in Windows Update.
In addition to this new Medicines for Windows 10 version 1809, Microsoft also released new optional updates for the versions 1803, 1709, and 1607 of the OS, though keep in mind that the new bits are only available for Windows 10 Enterprise and Education users.
