Tech News Syncing iPhone with Windows 11 available to all users

After launching the beta in February, Microsoft has now made Phone Link iOS support available to all users.

Microsoft says that support for the Phone Link application for iPhone is now available to everyone, and as announced in February, the application allows the synchronization of calls, contacts and messages, including limited iMessage support, between iPhone and PC.

Phone Link has been around for ANdroid since 2015, but this is the first time it supports iPhone. Microsoft launched a phased rollout starting with select Windows Insider testers in late February, followed by general availability last month. The company has promised that all Windows 11 users will receive support by mid-May, so even today those using Windows PC and iPhone can use Phone Link.

However, it should be said that Phone Link for iPhone has several limitations that Android phones do not have. First, while iMessage syncing is supported, it doesn't work for group chats, nor for sending photos and clips. In addition, voice messages and iMessage applications will not work, but synchronization could still be useful and save time "switching" from computer to mobile and vice versa.

In order to use Phone Link, you need to find it in the Windows taskbar. After launching the application, you need to set up a few things on both devices. First, iPhone is selected as the device type, and then its camera is used to scan the QR code in the Phone Link application. The devices connect via Bluetooth, but a few permissions need to be confirmed on the iPhone and PC. Phone Link supports any iPhone running iOS 14.0 or later.
