Writer's Blocks is a neat software solution that allows a user to arrange blocks in a coherent structure and then transfer an outline into the integrated word processor to write the story. The clean and familiar modern user interface is equipped with many helpful tools that let's user write distraction free and efficiently manage ideas Writer's Blocks allows user capture, arrange, and organise thoughts easier and faster than ever before. With the application user will stop always scrolling through page after page to see if what has written is coherent, and stimulates creativity, generating new ideas.
On the surface, many may see Writer’s Blocks as just another note card program. However, Writer’s Blocks goes way beyond traditional note cards, offering features and benefits not seen in other applications or paper solutions. With a block’s editability and almost limitless capacity, each block is more like a word processor document than an index card. However, unlike traditional word processor documents, blocks allow the user view and manage information in discrete chunks. Moreover, the ability to arrange, renumber, and size user blocks automatically add power not found elsewhere. Each of the blocks is linked to a section of the manuscript, so the user can get a quick reference and has an optional footnote area where user can enter reference information or any other type of information.
Mechanically, blocks also have tremendous advantages over traditional word processor documents. Arranging information becomes a snap when the user does not have to select individual words and worry about leaving some behind – potentially scrambling parts of its material. This also goes for formatting text. Another significant benefit for most Writer’s Blocks users is its non-linear nature allows writing any part of story or document without worrying about where it goes.
Writer's Blocks comes with multiple tools which allow to arrange, colour-code and group ideas into columns for better organisation. For instance, user can move blocks around and the block text area scrolls to fit as much text as entering. Writer's Blocks is a beneficial software solution that will help user capture and creatively arrange ideas by making hundreds of blocks each containing a few sentences or pages.
- Organize information in rows or columns with the editable heading;
- Transpose blocks from columns to rows or back with a single click;
- Hide the menus and maximise block and manuscript panels;
- Display only the menu tabs and hide the ribbon buttons to increase display space;
- Adjusts and resize the viewing size of the text in each block so that all text is visible in the block without changing the font size of the text;
- Fit block text when printing index cards;
- Zoom block text with CTRL+MouseWheel function to change the text zoom level of each block independent of the block’s font size;
- Re-zoom blocks and return all blocks to the default size and all block text to their assigned font sizes;
- ReSize (AutoSize) blocks horizontally to increase the width of blocks to display all text in the blocks;
- Document templates;
- ReNumber (AutoNumber) block by rows or columns;
- ReNumber columns or row heading using the Renumber dialogue;
- Leveling blocks by row or columns with a few clicks;
- Maximum block height (width) setting limit how large the ReSize and AutoSize functions enlarge a block;
- Minimum block height (width) setting limit how small the ReSize and AutoSize functions reduce a block;
- Make blocks square or tall and skinny or making them short and wide using Blocks aspect ratio setting of blocks;
- Perform common functions by row or columns such as convert blocks to a manuscript, convert footnotes to endnotes, synchronise, and sort by blocks;
- Span dual screens with a single click;
- Drag window scrolling and pan the display by simply clicking and dragging the mouse to an edge of the block panel to scroll in that direction;
- Touch screen and pen computers enabled Ribbon menu controls such as the Microsoft Surface;
- Touch enabled Office Metro™ style menu system which makes accessing commands and features easier than ever before;
- Format Paint Multiple Blocks command allows for painting multiple blocks by holding down the control key when painting blocks;
- Grid View help user position its blocks manually when not using the arrange functions;
- Grid Snap function aligns user blocks to the nearest grid points for uniform positioning when dragging and dropping blocks manually;
- Blocks can be sized manually using the mouse wheel while holding down the Shift key;
- Print blocks as a PDF.
