Hi, I wanna ask anyone of the folks here that still has a running netbook and have installed various OSes in there.
I have an old 2009 HP Mini 110 netbook, I just swapped the hard drive and wonder which Windows version would suit me the best, I wanna sell it to anyone else near my place soon since now I have a better laptop.
The specifications are:
10.1 screen with 1024x576 resolution
320GB Toshiba Hard Drive
2GB DDR2 RAM (maxed out, I can't add more)
1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 (0.5 MB Cache, 1Core/2Threads) 32bit only
It has a Windows XP Home original COA on the backside.
Well, before I swapped the hard drive, I've tried using Windows XP, 7, 8.1, and 10. Only windows 10 made it run sluggish. But I still can't decide which is the best for it. I'm considering either reinstalling Windows XP that came with it or go with Windows 7 Home Basic/Premium to avoid resource hog. Windows XP is unsupported by MS today and Google stopped updating Chrome for XP. Windows 7 has better software support and compatibility nowadays. 8.1 sadly can't run metro apps at that resolution (tweaking the resolution hurts my eyes) so doesn't worth it to install, and 10 although allows me to run metro apps, is sluggish.
Any thoughts to help me decide?
