Try to uninstall and remove all leftovers from the registry! The turn-off antivirus and try to install.
Dude two of our VPN clients which works fine for me and others do not work for you! The only thing I can conclude it must be something on your side.
Thought food for you to consider and make the right decision:
Did/do you use any VPN client before or did/do you use VPN client at the same client? Each VPN installs its driver into the system, some of these programs use OpenVPN, system services (several programs cannot be used at the same time and work in parallel too). You most likely have damaged some of these VPN drivers, or there is a conflict between these programs. Delete all VPN standard methods, then see what you have in the "Device Manager - Network Adapters" going on. If the drivers from these VPNs are left there - remove directly from there, restart the computer. Then install try only the one that you need and not 10 pieces. If it does not help, then only roll back the system or reinstall. TAP-Windows didn’t need to be touched at all ... Without it, nothing can work at all ... It needs to be returned first.
Thank you Mirkec.
I downloaded Avira VPN from TeamOS about 6 months ago and it worked perfectly up until today. As aforementioned, it simply does not want to connect anymore (same goes for this VPN in this thread). Then I uninstalled Avira, installed the newest Avira VPN provided here in the forum. Still no success.
Right now, I went to the registry, deleted the VPN entries. I also uninstalled drivers in the device manager (under network adapters). I removed WAN Miniport IP, WAN Miniport IPv6 and WAN Miniport PPTP and scanned for hardware changes (its back now). I also removed TAP under network adapters, restarted my PC, installed Avira VPN again from the forum but still no success (under device manager I can see now "Phantom TAP Windows Adapter V9).
I am not a very technical person but I am just not sure what is the issue. As I said, the official VPNs work (I took a free trial from Avira VPN and F Secure VPN and both worked). I uninstalled everything, did the process as just mentioned and I just have Avira VPN installed. But sadly still failing to connect.
Any further clues?
This is what I currently have in my network adapters:
