Locked Help needed

Hello everyone I have a big problem, I have bought new 4TB WD HDD and connected it but it's not show in partition manager while in BIOS it's shown.

Apparently if you have an SSD on an M.2 port then some motherboards will disable one or more SATA ports. You could try different SATA ports.

I had a similar incident with my 3tb drive. I had to use a live version of linux and boot with that, THEN it recognized the disk and was able to format it to GPT using Linux, and all was well

Right click on this Pc (windows 10)_preferrably the dekstop icon..go to manage then on the left side select disk management...and then select your 4tb new hdd and right click on your drive and then create new volume (Drive letter ex D or F or E, drive label (name to be displayed on the drive), size of the partition etc will be asked in the next window)..after you're done you will be able to see your new drive when you open file explorer

A similar solution might be to use something like this to partition and/or format the disk before you run your normal OS.

Hello @Iceman,
Disk Manager > Action > Rescan Disks.
Then initialize (drive letter / path)
format, go with GPT table because of the size.

@Iceman96 try to connect the HDD if its possible to another computer to check its working.
Also check under disk management to see if your external drive shows there.
Also make sure that the drive has a drive letter assigned to it.
Go into disk management and check if your drive shows there. If it shows but it does not show a drive letter, make sure you give it one.
Also, try to connect the drive to a USB port in the back of the computer (in case its external HDD), avoid using a USB hub OR change ports in the motherboard

My all-in-one-solution for any kind of computer problem is to boot from a usb stick with WinPE 10-8 Sergei Strelec ! Latest version you can download from here
WinPE 10-8 Sergei Strelec (x86/x64/Native x86) 2021.01.05 English version If your bios picks up the hd it will show up in any hard disk tools you can run from the usb stick. Problem solved....

I fixed it with Hiren't BOOT PE and AOMEI ultimate edition, thanks all for help, you can lock this up but maybe leave it opened for a day so other members can also write if they have some other solution just in case others will have simillar problem.

Hey Ice, if you ever have an issue like this again, try using RM Prep. it is basically for USB drives but can recognize and format any drive on your PC. It will see drives Windows misses sometimes. I am glad you got it sorted out! hope you have been well, glad to see you on here also. I have been mostly absent lately, family issues.

P.S. - once in a while depending on a lot of things, there are jumpers on the HDD that might need changing.

Oh, sorry ? I answered on "what was a problem" what I did is just found my disk there and made a partiton with full size and save changes.
