QuickBooks is a practical tool for the business owners or accountants who want to manage their transactions on a daily basis. The program is designed to create a local database with details about customers, suppliers and other transactions. Since every business needs to keep track of the daily transactions, a large variety of applications is available in order to meet that demand. QuickBooks Simple Start is one of the tools designed especially for the small business or startups.
The main window provides an interactive diagram which enables user to generate invoices and record its transactions. Thus, user only need to place the mouse cursor on every item in order to view the available commands. If user are just starting to use the application, it is recommended to begin by adding details about business partners and bank account since these details are used when creating a new invoice, record a payment or making a deposit.
The program offers the possibility to import the customer details from Excel spreadsheets in order to easily transfer the transaction details. Although user cannot export the database to other file types, user can generate reports and print them as text or CSV files.
QuickBooks is designed to manage user's transactions and customer data. If user own a small business, it can satisfy the basic accounting needs.

Data level permissions
- With data level permissions, you can improve security and confidentiality by assigning users access only to the specific employees, data, transactions, and reports that they are responsible for. Users will only be able to view, edit, or delete specific customers, vendors, or data with the permissions you delegate to them.
Improved bank feeds
- Now save even more time by automatically categorizing bank transactions with improved matching for payees, accounts, and classes. Use enhanced rules and batched editing to limit data entry, and quickly review and resolve discrepancies.
Receipt management
- With receipt management, save time by using a mobile device to capture receipt data - just photograph, import, and review. Best of all, you can automatically categorize or modify receipt expenses and record multiple transactions all at once. And assign permissions to users to easily review transactions via email or within QuickBooks.
Automatically send statements
- End the hassle of regularly sending your customers statements to remind them of open balances. Schedule statement emails to send automatically, without the need to customize them every time they're sent out.

Hardware and Operating system requirements (client and server):
- CPU: 2.4 GHz minimum;
- RAM: 4GB minimum, 8GB Recommended
- Server RAM Requirements
- 1-5 Users: 8GB RAM;
- 10 Users: 12GB RAM;
- 15 Users: 16GB RAM;
- 20 Users: 20+GB RAM.
Disk space:
- 2.5GB of disk space (additional required for data files);
- Additional software: 60MB for Microsoft .NET 4.6 Runtime, provided on the QuickBooks CD;
- Additional requirements for Intuit Data Protect in QuickBooks Connected Services offerings (applies to US only);
- Require minimum 4.0GB RAM;
- Twice the size of the largest file set to back up + 100MB or twice the size to restore. The space is only required from the work folder LocalApplicationData+"Intuit\Intuit Data Protect";
- Note: Storing a large .QBW data file on an SSD will greatly speed up performance and is encouraged.
Windows:
- US version of Windows (if using US QuickBooks software), Canadian version of Windows (if using Canadian QuickBooks software);
- Regional settings are supported when set to English (United States/Canada) with keyboard setting to US/CA only;
- Administrator rights required for the server computer when hosting Multi-User access;
- Natively installed - means its was installed on a particular system or environment that it was designed for. This also means it doesn't need to run in a virtual environment or emulation software.
Optical drive:
- 4X DVD-ROM drive required for CD installations (unless QuickBooks is downloaded from Intuit server).
Screen Resolution:
- Display optimized for 1280 x 1024 screen resolution or higher with up to 2 Extended monitors;
Best optimized for Default DPI setting for a given computer.
