I found that, using the code so generously provided by HawkEye, it is possible to have a fully functional installation of the latest version 16.5.0.

and download the needed "bootstrapper file". There're three choices: Enterprise, Professional and Community. Presumably,
you'd want the most comprehensive, which is the Enterprise. You'll get a small file called vs_Enterprise.exe.
2 From the command prompt, run this program with the following command:
vs_Enterprise.exe --layout x:\vslayout --lang en-US
NB: Here, x:\vslayout is the folder where the setup files would be created. x is usally c, but can be any disk drive; just
make sure you have about at least 32GB space. You'd need to change the language option if you want something other than
US English. There're lots of "optional options", which would narrlow down the number of components. Omitting them, as
in the above command, brings in the most comprehensive set. Note further that this command takes many hours to finish
executing; coffee break isn't enough; do it overnight!
3 You end up with a huge folder. There, you'll see the file vs_setup.exe. Run it. Pay attention to what you want.
There're many modules that you can opt to incude here and each module has necessary and optional elements. As you
keep adding, you'll see "needed space" go up humongously. And this is in addition to the storage you needed for the
setup file and it has to be in the drive where Windows resides. This step also takes quite awhile, but not as long as step 2.
What you get is a trial account, valid until 2020 June. The following Enterprise key worked to make it permanent.
Thanks a lot, HawkEye!

I assume that the Professional key would also work, if that version is desired.
