Pidgin is a chat client which lets you log in to accounts on multiple chat networks simultaneously. This means that you can be chatting with friends on MSN, talking to a friend on Google Talk, and sitting in a Yahoo chat room all at the same time.

Pidgin supports many features of these chat networks, such as file transfers, away messages, buddy icons, custom smilies, and typing notifications. Numerous plugins also extend Pidgin's functionality above and beyond the standard features. The app is free and contains no ads, enjoy!

Pidgin is compatible with the following chat networks out of the box: AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC and SIMPLE,. It can support many more with plugins.

But don't Worry, with Third Party Pluggins, Pidgin Supports all the following Networks,

i. Unzip the archive
ii. Follow the instructions in the 'Read Me' File to install it.

Note: If you're looking for a chatting servce, that is not there by default.
Please use Third Party Pluggins for that from the official site.

its open source, not cracked.. so i thought.. virus scan would not be necesary for. it.
that's why.
