Not sure where I'm gonna use this but use it I will!
Try this methodI was trying to install to a brand new laptop with latest Intel CPU, and had a Western digital SSD of the model NVme WD PC SN560 SDDPNQE-1T00-1102. When select where to install, the ISO program cannot find the SSD. So the installation cannot be coninued. Also the touchpad of the laptop did not responde. However, running gparted ISO on the same laptop, the SSD can be found. Actually I used gparted to shrink the windowd partions on this laptop. And the touchpad was working with gparted.
The Endeavour Linux ISO can also find the SSD and touchpad.
I checked the device manager on this laptop which had Windows 11 Home from the manufacturer. For this device, a set of very old drivers were used from 2006: C:\windows\systems32\drivers\disk.sys, EhStorClass.s.sys, and partmgr.sys. The version is 10.0;22621.1(WinBuild160101.0800).
Does anyone know how to solve? Thanks.
I downloaded the official W11 23H2 ISO from Microsoft site. Replaced install.esd. And added AutoUnattend.xml to the root. However, after booted into the new ISO, at the screen of choosing which images to install, it said "images are not available". So basically it did not recognize the custom install.esd? BTW, the touchpad was not usable either.Try this method
step 1
find an iso of windows 11 23H2 untouched and extract all files using 7zip or winrar
step 2
go to 'sources folder' and find install.wim file and remove it
step 3
extract also the 'Alienware Dark Red iso' and go to sources folder then copy install.esd and place it to the extracted untouched iso/sources folder
step 4
create the iso of the extracted untouched files with my Alienware dark red install.esd
done try to install the iso again
