can you recommend a USB maker app for Linux, Ubuntu, Debian and Mac OS??
because I don't have any Windows PC or Laptop to make this bootable USB.
Etcher for Mac OS does not work.
Rufus is windows only app.
for a windows image - WoeUSB (worked like a charm but not that easy to install I may add) for Linux (there is also something called as multisystem but it didnt work for me), Rufus for Windows, Mac - idk exactly but there is something called as 'Bootcamp someword someword'
for a linux image - etcher, rufus, multisystem and I guess woeUSB too
you can also try creating a bootable usb from command line tools but I am not exactly sure about that process
First of all, a big big thanks to you guys. You saved me and my laptop. My original Windows got corrupted badly and was not recovering. I had a possible exam to give on a platform that only supported Windows and I did not had a great internet. The OS images available here with live seeds gave me such a sigh of relief, specially after I took a chance and it actually installed and was working.
A few questions I had in mind.
- Office is showing to be already activated, so why is the option to activate office shown in the menu by right clicking on the desktop and how to remove it ?
- Windows is already activated too. Don't you generally get 3 options (STD/DLA/OEM ) during installation of Windows from such Images ?
- On extracting the downloaded file it said Nov 2019, so is this image actually a Windows Nov 2019 version or a Nov 2019 version with updates till Jan 2020 or the images were basically not much different so this is just a reupload ?
- Is there some kind of security check mechanism of these images ( not referring to SHA and MD5 checks to know if the image is tampered while downloading ) ? If not, I suggest there should be one to check the OS Image of any potential threats since these images are I think tweaked.
- If Windows and Office are activated, does this mean we can install latest official updates from Microsoft (the ones you get by enabling it in the settings section) ? Is there a chance of it getting detected and deactivating ?
- If it does get deactivated, is reinstalling the OS and disabling any updates the only option ?
