can someone enlighten me a little bit on this?
if using ventoy to make usb installs, how does it determine if it makes a mbr or gpt install ?
as usually with rufus you must choose,

ok thanksDefault is generally MBR, but depends on your PC. Though MBR works with most PC's.
If you want to change it to GPT, just go to Options -> Partition Style and select GPT.

but you cant mix them can you, i take it not, just i have this laptop here that is uefi only so it wouldnt see the mbr install

PC I'm using right now is uefi only and it worked. Once you open ventoy it detects what you have, ie: uefi and sets it's default format for the USB.
After the USB is formatted with your chosen format, copy your ISO files to the USB drive. When done, reboot your PC then hit the needed key to boot to your USB. Ventoy should load.
You will see your ISO files listed. Select the ISO file and hit enter. ISO should load and install should start.
